DMCA Policy

Overview

WTF.ai respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”). If you believe that content appearing on our platform infringes a copyright you own or control, please follow the process described below.

Response Commitment

We aim to acknowledge all valid DMCA takedown requests within 48 hours of receipt and to action confirmed infringements promptly thereafter.

How to Submit a Takedown Request

Send your written notice to legal@whatsthatfilm.ai with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice”. Your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your full legal name, address, telephone number, and email address
  2. A description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed, including registration number if applicable
  3. The specific URL or precise location on WTF.ai of the allegedly infringing material
  4. A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  5. A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on behalf of the copyright owner
  6. Your physical or electronic signature

Incomplete notices that do not include all required elements will not be actioned. Submitting a false or fraudulent DMCA notice may result in liability for damages, including costs and legal fees.

What Happens After You Submit

Upon receipt of a complete and valid DMCA notice we will:

  1. Send an acknowledgement email within 48 hours
  2. Review the notice and assess whether the content is apparently infringing
  3. Where appropriate, remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material
  4. Notify you of the action taken and, where required, notify the uploader

Counter-Notification

If you believe your content was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to legal@whatsthatfilm.ai with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notice.” Your counter-notification must include: (a) your name, address, phone number, and email; (b) identification of the removed material and its former location; (c) a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and (d) a statement consenting to jurisdiction of the Federal District Court for your district, or if outside the US, any judicial district where WTF.ai may be found; and (e) your physical or electronic signature.

Repeat Infringers

It is our policy to terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion.
